What to wear when you travel?
We’ll tell you.
It’s not easy to avoid physical activity when you’re traveling, but a few tips to make it easier.
Here are the basics: Wear comfortable clothing.
You’ll feel better if you can keep your legs together and not get sore.
If you’re at home, wear a T-shirt.
Be sure to wear shoes with ankle supports.
The goal is to have at least one supportive shoe, so you won’t have to worry about stepping on the ground or stepping into a pool of water.
Bring water bottles and a bottle opener if you need them.
Make sure to take your phone, wallet, laptop and wallet with you.
Keep it safe.
Wear it in a pocket, on your shoulder or at the bottom of your bag.
Wear shoes with a heel height that’s a little bit above the ankle.
Avoid wearing loose clothing with a lot of fabric, especially if you are pregnant or nursing.
You can also wear a loose T-Shirt or sweater if you want.
Stay hydrated.
You need to drink enough water to stay hydrated for a full 24 hours.
Make sure you have plenty of water to drink in your own home or somewhere that is not too hot.
If you don’t have a bath, wash your clothes in the sink.
Use a hand sanitizer.
If your child or partner is sick, you may want to use a hand-washing solution instead of a body wash.
You don’t want to expose your baby or baby’s developing skin to bacteria.
Keep your feet warm.
Put your feet in warm water for 10 minutes.
Don’t take the bath while your child/partner is sick.
Your child/parent needs to be in a warm, dry environment to stay healthy.
Put a pillow under your child if you’re staying at a hotel or in a guest room.
Make the child feel comfortable and safe.
Do the right thing when you leave.
It’s important to be safe when you depart.
If the child is having trouble sleeping, try to bring a blanket or something to place under the child.
Give your child a good bath.
Take the time to shower, clean your clothes and your shoes.
Take your child to the park, pool or other place where they feel safe.
It may take some time to get used to being out in public, but that’s okay.
Get a good night’s sleep.
It will be easier to stay up late if you get enough sleep.
Remember that there are certain things you can’t do while you’re away.
Make it clear that it’s okay to take a break from physical activity.
Read about your child’s schedule, and don’t make any decisions based on when you can go on your vacation.
If it’s too far away, call your child and ask if he or she wants to come with you and stay at the same hotel for an extended time.
You might want to consider whether they want to stay at your hotel for a week or a month, which would allow for more time to plan your trip.
