L’Atalanta striker Gio Bencalves says he is looking forward to being back in action after a long injury lay-off.
The 26-year-old scored five goals in his Serie A debut last weekend but is still yet to return to action after injuring his knee in training.
“I’m very happy that I’m back in the first team,” the forward told reporters.
“There are some tough moments.
But I’m looking forward.
I just want to be back playing.
I’m ready for the next stage.”
Bencalves has scored six goals in 15 appearances this season, including one in the last five.
The Liguria-born striker was first signed by former Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri in 2012, and has scored 12 goals in 44 games for the club.
The Italian giants are keen to bolster their attacking options in the summer, with the likes of Andrea Pirlo and Mario Balotelli among the targets.
